WHAT DO WE DO IN THIS CLASS??  This is a paint-along class for beginners or people who have not painted in a while.  Of course, if you just want to paint with a great group of people, that's fine too!  First, I give you an overview of the materials, paints, and medium we will be using.  Then I show you step-by-step how to paint our landscape for the day.  We just jump right in and paint.  I give you tips and show you techniques to use as we go along.  We have a great time as we listen to music and paint.  Everyone says it's very relaxing and fun, and you go home with your very own 16x20 masterpiece.  Here are two samples of paintings we have done in class.  Every month we paint a different painting.

WHAT DO I BRING TO CLASS AND WHAT DO I WEAR?  Just bring yourself.  All materials, including paint, canvas, brushes, etc. are provided in class.  Don't wear your best clothes.  Painting can get messy at times, and you don't want to ruin something nice by getting paint on it.

We just finished our August class.  We had a great time painting a sunset beach.  In the past we have painted figures, flowers, abstract landscapes and impressionistic landscapes.  First I give you an overview of the materials we will be painting with.  Then we jump right in and start painting.  I show you step-by-step how to paint our painting for the day - demonstrating different techniques along the way.  We have a great time listening to music as we paint.  It makes for a very relaxing time.  Come join us for the class next month, have some fun and take home a great painting!

WHAT DO WE PAINT IN THIS CLASS?
This class is for mostly for beginners or people who haven't painted with pastels in a while, but everyone is welcome!  This class gives you the opportunity to learn about both oil pastels and soft pastels. 

In our first session I present an overview of both oil pastels and soft pastels.  Next we prepare a panel for use with the soft pastel painting we will paint in the second session.  It has to have time to dry. We then complete two small paintings using oil pastels, one on pastel card and one on sandpaper.  In the second session, we paint with soft pastels on the panel we prepared in the first session, and then paint another small painting on either paper or sandpaper.  Each class project is different from month to month.  So come join us while we paint, listen to music, and relax!  Here's a sample of a project we may paint in class.

WHAT DO I BRING AND WHAT DO I WEAR?
Just bring yourself.  All materials are provided.  Wear older clothes.  While pastels aren't as messy for your clothes, your fingers will get dirty.  Gloves are provided if you want them.

WHAT DO WE DO IN THIS CLASS?  Whether you are a beginner or an experienced acrylic painter, you will have fun and learn something new in this class. We will peel, blow, drip, spray, throw and drag paint, gels and mediums to produce 1-2 abstract projects in each class.  In each class we will concentrate on a couple of different techniques and each student will produce their own unique work of art using those techniques.  No two classes are the same.  So bring your inner child along (not the real ones), have some fun, listen to music, and get ABSTRACT!  Here are the two projects we completed for August.
